Numerical Analysis Around the World: On February 29, the worldwide mathematical/computational sciences community turned out for a well-choreographed celebration of the life and work of Gene Golub, who died on November 16, 2007. Some of the events that unfolded in the course of the day took the form of technical sessions, some had special structures, and at least one inspired a noteworthy graphic. All made space for fond reminiscences. |
